Slide to Unlock / Power Off Not Working on iPhone Re: Issue with my iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 14.6 (June 17, 2021) My phone is unresponsive so I tried a hard power off by holding down the power and the top volume at the same time as I always do to reboot. I get the screen where I have the power off slider but even that is not working.
Screen cracked, I got it replaced via 3rd party cuz from official Apple store would have made me broke. The red dot sensor (sorry I don’t know the exact name) is working. Portrait mode isn’t working either of selfie camera. Face ID starts the scan but cannot identify my face. Instead I get messages like “move iPhone higher/lower” etc.
Force restart the iPhone as follows: Press and quickly release the volume up button. Press and quickly release the volume down button. Press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears. View in context.

my iPhone XS Max was working perfectly fine the night before, went to sleep and next day not working at all. so frustrated with customer care, asked me to go to a service centre for an evaluation which found no physical or water damage at all and heard nothing from apple support. customer service wants me to pay for replacement of the screen
The best fix is to simply close your open apps. Use your finger to swipe up and then pause on the Home screen. You'll see any open apps appear. Swipe up on each app to close. After closing all your background apps, try using your screen again to see if this solved your issue. Our trusted experts can fix your phone as soon as the same day.
Part 2: Important don'ts after getting iPhone/iPad out of water. Although most iPhones offer a certain level of water resistance, it doesn't mean that they are completely immune to water damage, and also the protective capabilities may decrease over time due to normal wear and tear.
